Giulia Luraghi received her Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano in April 2016. She carried out research in Biomechanics, focused on verification and validation studies on fluid-structure interaction (FSI) simulations for cardiovascular applications. She was involved in research activities of LaBS (Politecnico di Milano) from May to October 2016, before attending from November 2016 the PhD course in Bioengineering (Politecnico di Milano). Her research is focused on cardiovascular numerical modelling with FE, CFD and FSI simulations (in particular on heart valves, TAVR and artificial ventricles). She received the MEDTRONIC Student award (VPH Conference 2018), Travel Student award (8th WCB 2018), Best Poster award (CAE Conference 2017 and 2nd VPH School 2017) and the Degree award “Novel Trends in Biomedical Engineering” (XXVI GNB 2016). She has been teaching assistant for the courses “Continuum and Structural Mechanics” and “Computational biomechanics Laboratory” and she has supervised some bachelor and master theses. She is a member of European Society of Biomechanics (ESB) since 2017.
