Sara Bridio was born in Vigevano (Italy) in 1994. She received the Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano (Italy) in December 2018. She graduated with a thesis entitled “An innovative method for automatic image-based patient-specific stent reconstruction for computational fluid dynamics analyses”. The thesis work was carried out as a collaboration between the Laboratory of Biological Structure Mechanics (LaBS) in Politecnico di Milano and the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of Emory University (Atlanta, GA, USA), where she spent six months as visiting master student. After graduating, she was involved in research activities at LaBS, until November 2019, when she enrolled in the PhD program in Bioengineering at Politecnico di Milano. Her PhD research is framed in the H2020 project “IN Silico clinical trials for acute Ischemic STroke” (INSIST). In particular, her work is focused on in-silico simulations of the thrombectomy procedure and on the development of reduced-order models of thrombectomy. Keywords: reduced-order models - in silico simulations - thrombectomy |
